Graduate students earning their master's degrees in business at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln are in good hands.
They're attending one of the top schools in the nation for their degree, according to Business Week magazine. The magazine recently honored UNL's part-time Master's of Business Administration program as fourth in the nation, and first in the Midwest.
Schools were rated using criteria such as student satisfaction, Graduate Management Admission Test scores and academic quality, among other things.

UNL graduate student Sarah Andrews is in the MBA program and already finalizing her class schedule for next semester with graduate adviser Judy Shutts. Andrews said the advantages to the program were numerous.
"I've made all kinds of relationships with students from all kinds of undergraduate degrees," she said. "It's really diverse."
Students with all kinds of degrees attend the MBA program, including engineers, journalism students and even music majors.
Shutts said the college was honored by the ranking by Business Week, and she attributed the recognition to a number of things, including professor expertise and the bang-for-the-buck price UNL offered.
"It's a great return on your investment," Shutts said. "It's very, very reasonably priced."
Business Week ranked schools higher if a university's price was appropriate in relation to the amount of money graduates made after completing the courses.
The MBA program at UNL gives students the tools necessary to participate in the business world immediately after graduation. One of the memorable and challenging classes Andrews has taken was a course that allowed students to work directly with a company. She worked with Gallup.
"They were just getting to unveil a product, and we were to come up with a marketing plan for it."
The small groups and direct association with a successful company kept the class competitive, active and ready to face the business world, she said. For Andrews, it was one of the high points of her experience in the UNL MBA program so far.
In the current economy, college students are looking into the workforce's future with growing uncertainty. The MBA program is committed to placing their students into jobs, with a staff member working full-time to provide as many opportunities as possible.
As well as being one of the top programs in the nation, the MBA program is also appropriate for graduate students looking to supplement their education experience.
"These days, you need an extra something -- an edge over everybody else," Shutts said. "It's very competitive out there."
