Date:

FANO The actions taken by the Municipality and the Region following the cases of dengue fever, which have meanwhile risen to 34 in Fano, have been corrected. The work of the institutions was evaluated by the Ministry of Health and expressed during a video conference in which representatives of the Higher Institute of Health and, at regional level, the Director of the Prevention Department of the Ast of Pesaro-Urbino, the Directors of the competent sectors of Ars Marche and representatives of the Regional Operational Group for Health Emergencies participated. In these circumstances, the number of confirmed infected people in the region has been updated, with a total of 36, adding to the estimates that were also detected in San Costanzo and one case in Cartoceto, most of which are indigenous. In only one case it is known that the infected person had just returned from a trip abroad to an affected country, but the timing has led health authorities to believe that he did not contract the infection outside the borders. 10 patients have been hospitalized, but none of them are in serious condition.

Infection rates could rise further.

However, the figures may need to be updated once the test results of another 29 people reported by GPs who showed compatible symptoms, but have recovered or are undergoing them, are available in the next few days. Recovery phase. If laboratory tests confirm the infection, the area where the affected person resides will be disinfected, provided that it is not within the perimeter affected by interventions already carried out. As for the initiatives carried out, during the conference a report was presented on the two disinfection operations already carried out in Fano and the third that was postponed due to bad weather and announced over the weekend, while the intervention in San Costanzo was carried out within a 200-meter radius around the affected person’s home. Mosquito traps were also installed, but of the few samples caught, none were positive for dengue.
